I also agree with Bob. There seems to be too many posts regarding surging with any of the 66's while towing.
As a point of reference- I run a PS62/12 on an ATS Manifold, Hot Juice, Intake & Exhaust. On the highest setting (5/5) temps do not reach 1200. Spool up is excellent. Keep in mind that I'm just above sea level.

I wanted a hot-rod, so I ordered a SPS66. I know HTT and II are different, but the guys at II said the 64mm is mainly for 2nd gen trucks that have a different fueling curve than 3rd gens.
If you tow, go with the 62. If you want a hot rod with big numbers on dyno day, get the 66. The difference between the 62 and 64 isn't all that great, I was told. I'm sure it's a similar case with the HTT turbos. I'll find out soon if the surging and lag is a problem...

Pretty much what the other guys have said.
Another thing to remember is where you are driving??? Flat-land or the mountains........also as in my case....stop-n-go in Los Angeles traffic, that's the main reason I went with the 62/14, plus also the surge complaints on the 66.

Would the Phat Shaft 62 be a good match with an Edge Juice, MBRP muffler and a CAI? My truck is an 05 and I just want more power for a daily driver that will very rarely see any towing, just a few dirt bikes in the bed is all. I just want something very responsive, and to be able to smoke the euro/ricer mobiles when they deserve it.
I'm thinking somewhere between 400-450 HP.
Dumb question: Does the turbo itself increase HP? For instance; with a Juice installed, lets say you have around 380 rwhp. Now add an aftermarket turbo. Will you now end up with even more HP, say around 430 or so?
Told you it was a dumb question, but I won't know unless I ask. I'll bet at least one person that read my question is wondering the same thing.

Currently with my setup in town i run only my Quad standard box and it does fine. I cant tell a difference from stock. When towing i run both boxes and it will scream.
