Howard's Timer

Having an occasional problem with a hard start after I use the timer. Can take as many as 10 tries to get it to turn over and then it studders for a while. It's almost as if it is flooded. Anyhow, is this a good email for Howard: hvanflee@sisna.com ?

I'll contact him if nobody knows of a solution. Truck starts perfectly otherwise. I can almost corrolate a longer cool down on the timer at high idle with a harder start. I just made a 6hr pull of 10k and gave it the 6 minute cooldown and it was a real bear to start.

Have you gotten the hard start flash from the dealer yet? That might be your problem, and not the timer

Kevin

ps, I dont think that howard makes the timers anymore

My truck starts great as well. Only time it struggles is after use of the timer. It does not do it every time either, but only when I use the timer.

Hmmmm....

Never had that happen with my Howards timer.
As far as I know hes not making them anymore either, not sure why, dont think its because of any defect since many people on here have one without any problems.

Which fuses did you tap when you hooked yours up?

It's tapped into fuse 28. That appears to be the ignition fuse in my truck according to the fuse diagram.

Howard quit making them because he decided to move to Alaska and do something else with his life. That email should put you through to him.

Sounds like your truck is running out of fuel, my guess is the timer is not hooked up where it needs to be. If anyone can help you, Howard is the man He is most likely in the middle of the moving process, so give him time to reply.

Seems to me if the guy knew his stuff it would work in the first place.

Like I already said, my guess is it isn't hooked up correctly.
