That's a little harsh. I could very well have it in the wrong location. Give us some time to work it out. Like I said, it does not happen every time. Maybe I have it grounded poorly.

Sounds like your truck is running out of fuel, my guess is the timer is not hooked up where it needs to be. If anyone can help you, Howard is the man He is most likely in the middle of the moving process, so give him time to reply.
Thanks, Larry.

Well gotmeat is having problems as well, in fact the same problems. Directions were followed perfectly so i think the hooked up wrong theory isnt holding very well.

on the 2006 models, by just tapping the #28 fuse it will keep the truck running, but it does not keep the in tank lift pump running. if you have a fuel pressure gauge, you will notice, that after you turn the key off, the pressure will drop to zero. to remedy this, you have to take the wire tapping #28 and use it to trigger a relay. this relay will then power the positive side of the stock or aftermarket lift or supply pump. These trucks will continue to run with little to no fuel pressure, but they will not start. The extended start time you are experiencing is cause by the system having to re-pressurize each time you use the timer. essentially you are running the truck out of fuel each time. i have experienced this problem on my '06 and the relay was the fix.

OK, so from #28 to the relay. Then where to with the other 3 legs of the relay. Think you can diagram me something in MS Paint?

Or, do I need to jump to a stock relay that already handles the lift pump?

If all this is true, why does it not suggest this in the instructions?

no clue why it doesn't suggest this in the instructions. my guess is that as long as it allows the truck to cool down, that is all the company is worried about maybe? either way, i had this problem with my tst box and mark chappel said that this was the fix. as for the way to wire it, the #28 fuse tape will trigger the positive side of the relay. This would be the same location as if you were to use a switch to activate. as for the three other spades, one is your negative ground for relay activation and the two others are your positive hooked to the battery and the positive powering the lift pump. the one powering the lift pump needs to be hooked up to the factory lift pump wiring harness either by soldering or a scotch lock. it does not need to be cut. this wire on the '05s and '06s is orange with a red tracer. the wire tapped to #28 is what the cool down timer keeps charged positive, even when the key is off, to keep the truck running. this will keep the relay closed and power still going to the pump even when the key is off. when the truck cools down to the preset, the timer will stop the positive feed to #28, kill the truck, stop the lift pump, and no fuel pressure is lost causing hard start up.

No Howard is a stand up guy, most likely they changed the wiring between 05 and 06 enough to cause this problem and he was not aware of it. As you stated that simple jumper set up will fix the issue.

If you had it installed correctly, it would not run out of fuel.

You will need to contact Howard to find out how to set it up properly for your truck or use the simple jumper that dperf was kind enough to describe in his post.

My guess is this is what Howard will suggest once he has time to see this thread as well

Email has been sent to Howard. I'll let him give me the OK on the relay before I do it.

Now can someone tell me where the lift pump is so that I will be prepared to do so.

You must be missing something here. Installing it right would mean that you followed the directions right, which i did. Having to rig the produdct with a jumper(not matter how simple it is) means it doesnt work as stated. If you had to rig it, it should have said "rigging with jumper required". Maybe if i didnt buy it from the DTR store you would agree that it doesnt work right?

No you are the one missing something here, My concern is helping you get the thing working like it should, I am not interested in placing blame on ANYONE. If you need to use a jumper, who cares where that info comes from? If Howard was able to see this thread I have no doubt he would be offering you the cure himself.

Your abusive post slamming Howard proves that your ONLY concern is to slam him. If you wanted it to work you could have called me along time ago and I would have gone out of my way to see that you got in touch with Howard.

Right now it looks as though the cure is staring you right in the face, you can waste time placing blame or you can do what it takes to make the thing perform like it does for all those other happy customers.

If you like, you can return it to me and I will cheerfully refund your purchase price as well. I have lots of requests for one of those right here on my desk.

I am also trying to track him down and secure that information for you as well.

I know the cure is staring me in the face but thats not the issue, it should have worked right without me having to mess with it. Imagine if you bought an engine and when you got it, it didnt run right. Then your told all you have to do is this or that, same thing.
