B50 is just a shorter B164. I could be wrong it may be that its 98.74% at 15 mic. I will have to see if I can find the post I read.

on bob is the oil guy . Com there is a thread in the bypass section about an updated amsoil kit. I havnt had time to read it all yet though but if says its alot better. Anybody else read that? Matego I'm gonna also check into the ones you posted. I'm not sure if I will get as good a deal on pricing though as I am " joe public" and get no fancy shmancy cummins discount

Oh please With all that money you make, whats a couple hundred more dollars? You better get that thang together and get to Pikes Peak before they pave it the rest of the way. You have 10k to enter your truck in the Baja 1000 and not a extra 40$ for your bypass filter? You sir, make me laugh!

the soot problems started with the 04.5's and the by pass filter manufactures were cough off guard and were slow to get products out amsoil responded quicker than most and decided to keep the same filter # as the old just added a ae to the # to distinguish it from the old this helps people like us that have both year models in our fleet since the filters are backward compatible we only stock the ae just like we do with the fleetguard lf16035. we have three 06's that we are trying a filter from luberfiner on we are mounting them on the frame horizontally i like this filter a lot go to there web site and look at lf9750 i think the base # is lm451 it is also shown it is for larger motors and you have to add the smaller orifice and has the exact same specifications as the amsoil 39% soot removal and same micron rating i would have to guess it is the same filter media i have pix if you are interested give me your email and will send do not know how to do it here yet

Easiest way to do pics is sign up to photobucket. Than load them to there and copy the link from the bottom into the lil pic icon at the top of the reply box and paste the link. It only takes a few seconds to upload the pic and if you open two boxes in your browser it helps to flip bac and forth.

So what you just posted is what the amsoil update is about on the Bob is the oil guy forum?

Im in a transitional phase right now. The doctor says if my parts keep growin at this rate I will need to take 600cc's of estrogen a day to keep me at a normal rate.

No, Chim Chim I just like to use what I already got before I spend more money for the same thing. Fittings and what not. And the Baja race will require some underhanded hiding of money so the old lady dont know what Its costin. I too must answer to the supreme being, my wife.

Buy base OB1305 and spin on a LF778. Get the return cap from Amsoil and you should be able to Get-R-Done for around 125$ without a fancy shmancy discount. Or you could skip the return cap and drill/tap your valve cover for your return and save 66.70

I just got an email from Baldwin, 1-2 nominal and 15 absolute....

EDIT: I got another email from Baldwin stating they don't have a filter with the same gasket pattern, thread pitch that filters in the 2-5 micron range, absolute... So, IMHO, I would use a different mount for a bypass... But it does appear to be a good filter for a secondary primary.

So is the LF778 does or does not fit the OB1305?

I seem to be liking the sound of this. What amount of soot filtration is this capable of? And your saying this filter does do 2-5 mic and 15ab.?

The LF778 is a bypass filter designed to extend the service intervals on Carrier Reefer units. I will see if I can dig up the specs, but I was told it is a 2 mic. filter. I did not get that info from Fleetguard though.

The filter does fit that base 100% for sure. The only question is what the micron rating a lf788 has. I had to email Fleetguard because I could not find it in any literature.

we tinkered with a fleetguard lf777 that might be a better filter i found a napa base #4309 it has a wide surface area that will accept a wide range of filter sizes the center unscrews and i just make one that has the pitch and diameter that i want .
