I'm running the 90hp with timing TM#2 and I am seeing 42-45psi. I don't have my TST hooked up right now so I have no boost fooling. If I hold high boost pressure for too long, it will de-fuel. Smarty does not do boost fooling.

Marco posted on the TDR:OPS,
our web site is missleading! The FAQ page is referred to the VP version ONLY! The CR is a totally different beast! We need to setup a dedicated FAQ page for it. I'll work on it ASAP! Promise!

To come to your question about the boost fooling.
It depends upon what you mean with " Boost Fooling ".

Today Smarty allows for more fuel at higher boost readings from the MAP sensor. ( Among with several other things that deal with the MAP sensor output.)

What Smarty does not ( yet ) is to allow for more boost than 30 Psi without setting the high boost code and defeulling then. The VP Smarty is capable of it. The CR Smarty is not.... yet.
I'm researching that aspect.

Helps some?

Marco

So, my question in another thread that never got answered was if it allows the truck to go above 32psi by working the factory boost tables over then how does it clear the memory from reading the higher boost numbers?

In otherwords if you go to a dealer and they pull the history how does the Smarty keep them from knowing you tampered with the ECM or some part of the engine? The history will record max boost levels recorded. If you reset it you will reset everything.

Anyhow you can stick a boost fooler on it and it works great, I had 2 people email me the results today!

I have the boost fooler that came with my II SPS 62/14, my quad race does boost fooling. I am covered. I routinely see 46-48 psi, and never an issue. Get a boost fooler, and life is good.

friend wanted it and offered a reasonable price. everything i own is for sale if the price is right. I LOVED my Crazy Larry/Quadzilla boost fooler stack....but i am moving on. The smarty will be my 2nd programmer, i've owned 3 modules, 2 different monitors, and the boost fooler. I just love trying out new or different stuff.

I will test drive the new smarty software this weekend before purchase. one of my buddies tells me it fixed his problems...and his problems were my complaints with the original smarty software. i'm determined to make this work. Ramwheelsby's resulted may have influenced this idea.

Also, i feel more comfortable stacking a Smarty with my HOT juice or my future TST....Bullydog would worry me. I'll stack the smarty 90hp with NO additional timing with my HOT juice whenever Edge gets done making it HOT. I also feel that a Smarty/HOT juice stack might work well with a 62/12 or 62/14.....bullydog would have made me nervous.

1 more reason....i kinda represent and advertise for my diesel mech's shop to the local guys here in college station. several of them have tried my bullydog...so now i can let them try a smarty too. i'll be meeting up with a guy later this week so he can try my boost fooler and ride in a DTT equipped truck.

How can the Smarty allow higher than stock boost levels if it doesn't do boost fooling?

Also, does anyone have any idea how much pressure Smarty uses on the common rails?

Marco,

Do you recommend running a RokTech sensor, which advances the timing 2-3 degrees, with the new Smarty on a common rail?

The RokTech advances only 1 degree? Or the Smarty just one degree?
