How long will these last?

Does anybody know what kind of life I will see with 37" toyo open countrys? Are they a good tire that is reasonably quiet or should I go with another tire instead. I've heard that 37s still give decent mpg. Any comments?

I dont know how 37" tires can give decent mpg, my 315's killed mine. Maybe your gearing will make the diff if you have 410s. I have 373s.

That comment about 37's and good FUEL mileage was a joke...he was being sarcastic. Many fueling boxes affext the overhead...especially pressure boxes and he saiud his friend believed that the overhead displayed mileage was spot on when it was really off by 3 mph or more.

Cquestad, I see you have some 37s. Would you get them again? What kind of mpg do you see in mixed driving? I drive very conservatively on the go peddle.

I will run 37's again. You have the wrong gears...I would not go over 35's. There are too many factors to guess your mileage. I get between 14-18 on the highway (65 to XXX mph cruising) and 14-16 in town. I hotrod some...

My truck is not stock and it is hard to guess what affected what. My brothers truck is similar to yours...gearing, motor, etc. and he gets the same mileage with 35's.

That mpg sounds fantastic to me! You must have 4.10s. If I got some 4.10s and a good chip would you say to get the 37s. I've heard chips and big tires are the only way to go! What kind of rpm do you see at 70 mph?

Andrew,

Spend some time with the search function and investigate your goals with your truck. There is a correct way to upgrade the truck. You will need the correct lift, proper wheel backspacing/width, and gearing to run those tires.

My suggestion is 5" to 6" lift, 8-9" wide tire with 5.5" of Backspacing or more, and 4:10 gears. The Toyos are wide...I would also look at other 37's for an easier fit.
They may be a small amount of trimming required.

There are thousands of posts on engine performance upgrades. Get gauges and read up!
