How does wastegate function with TST on manual or electronic wastegate actuation?

Hello

Im trying to find the right combo using stock turbo and TST /BDDL setup.

Here are my configuration pojects:

1.Using TST before R49 update with electronic stock wastegate operation:

Truck pulls hard , no defueling until max egt of 1350 is reached but stock turbo would spool to 48 psi -- Way to much psi for stock turbo but truck would really go.

2. Using TST before R49 update w/o electronic stock wastegate operation and using TST manual wastegate nylon tube connected from intake to wastegate actuator.

Truck pulls hard. Max boost I see is 35 before it backs down to 28. Truck pulls hard but will load up when shift and surge.

3. Using TST with R49 update with electronic stock wastegate operation (I took the manual wastegate nylon tube off) to allow electronic wastegate operaiton.

Truck pulls hard but will defuel b/c of max boost of 38 set in the TST (new update) defuels based on max boost before reaching max egts. No surge or load up but seems to kill the power way too soon b/c of reaching max boost.
How can you reach max boost of about 38 psi w/o defueling using electronic wastegate operation? This quesion I would love to solve. It would be the answer to my surge / loadup problems

4. Using TST with R49 update with manual boost nylon tube connected from intake to wastegate actuator.

Not done this yet but will try this week and post results.

Truck has automatic trans 48RE and TST at 4/4 and BDDL at 90 hp with FASS fuel pump.

My conclusions are: I need a bigger turbo but I would like a way to limit boost electronically without defueling it at max boost like the manual nylon tube does on my stock turbo. The power is so smooth without the nylon tube no load up or surge when shifts gears but turbo spools too high if you do not set max boost on TST remote.

I will let you know in a few days. I should get my new TST(with twins program) R49 box tomorrow. I have a SPS66 turbo. The electronic wastegate selonoid has the jumper from II plugged in. The SPS66 is manually wastegated at 50psi. I spoke with Mark at TST yesterday about this very thing. He said I should just turn off the R49 boost defueling and let the manual wastegate take care of itself. I will be removing the HOT Juice/Attitude and replacing with the TST as primary box. I have the new Triple Dog with the lastest Crazy Larry update and an EZ to stack with. I expect to see and hear the wastegate open at 50psi with some combination of stack(s).

Mopariggan, I like the way the TST mods the wastegate as well. It has kept my plastic intercooler intact. My boost will go up to 35 and then drop to 28-29 like you said. Is the new remote from TST worth upgrading to?

YES, Its really not a new remote, they program your box and your remote and sell you a new timing harness all for about 100 dollars .

The upgrade allows me to leave the truck running and it shuts itself off at my preset egt which is 300

it also has max boost control
