How do you enable the high idle on a 2004.5?

Gotta take it to the dealer.

If you got a good one, they'll only charge you .25 hr of labor.

The Smarty may have that function, I don't know for sure...

My dealer did it for free. Tell them you want to warm up the cab quicker. They said (in El Paso?, I said no, when I'm hunting in CO)

I don't think so or at least not on an S06 Smarty. This is a dealer enable program. If you have an auto then that is all you would need but if you have a manual your have to do more like clutch safety switch or grounding Pin #22 on the ECM. If you have a manual, I have the instruction I used for my 06. PM me.

I had to go back twice, as they didn't enable it the first time, only brought up with their scanner, the first time. Enabled it the second time

Put the money the dealer would charge you towards a SMARTY!

Just put it back to stock with the Smarty before you go in, then they will never know.

the smarty will enable it on auto trucks without a problem. It also enables it on the stick trucks, but you have to ground one of the pins on the ecm for it to work.

Uner what menu on the Smarty? I am not aware of this feature. I've done tire size change on the Smarty but not high idle. I would like to know where on the Smarty for sure to someone that has done it.

SMARTY by default enables the high idle. No menu to select.

But you will have to ground ECM pin 22 (PTO enable) for high idle to work with the manual transmission.

I have a 2004.5 and my smarty enabled high idle, no extra work needed.
