whistler not whistling

I just installed the whistler 1 and I have no noticable sound difference at idle. At about 1800 RPM I can hear the difference with it. I am not deaf. I am wondering if this has revealed a problem with my turbo or? It is a 2003 non H.O. with a 5 speed
Thanks for the help!

you wont hear it at idle? You need to spool her up to hear whistling. If you hear a whistle at idle your turbo is going out.

Just thought that I would let those know who were curious about a second gen verson of the whistler I have got a part list for the aplication. However, there will be some modification to the battery box nothing major. Man does it make the turbo scream.

Will be working on getting you some pictures, but at the time all I can get you guys is the part list. I you decide to order the parts be ready to modify the battery box. Also I had already traded out my stock batteries out for Interstate which are smaller in size. So I dont think that with the stock batteries it will fit. My passenger battery is shoved all the way forward and the rubber hoses are still tight against the battery.

Don't forget the clamps to keep the hoses and tubing together.
Will post pictures when I get back to the truck.

Just use a air hose and blow it out from the inside out. Amsoil dealer said turn it down to about 20 psi though. You can shop vac from the outside to.

Thanks for the write-up Mark. Very cool. I just stopped by my local amsoil dealer and picked up a filter. Just need to collect the other parts and I'll start in on it.

what is the OD of the turbo inlet for a 2004.5 325hp 5.9? I'm building a whistler intake and want to replace the turbo elbow too. i looks like it would be a short radius 90*

thanks for the info!

turbo is 4"
you will probably have to trim the 90* to make it fit...otherwise it wont clear the oil filter...

yes those are the right sizes...but I dont know if the elbow will fit in there without modding or cutting the elbow. it's really tight right there...
