I really like the new injen/amsoil set-up....but it only replaces the top half of the intake system..witch is kinda a bummer for the price they want.my intake is cheap and it eliminates the intake muffler that comes stock on the trucks...but mine does not have a box or heat shield available yet... the filter and box/screen that the injen intake has is super pimp IMHO
installed Injen/amsoil pics at the bottom of the page....http://uintadieselperformance.com/In...l_Intakes.html

well really if a guygets the blue prefilter sock for your amsoil filter like I did that should be just as good as the box. That box does the job but is mostly for looks. What is a injen for our trucks running at?

I still havent converted my whistler over to a cold air one. Does the cold air one help *****? Because in canada where I live its mostly cold so i figure I dont need the cold air upgrade yet. not until summer.

what is the difference between the amsoil 6080 and the 6081? They have the same specs on them. Does one have a open end and one have a capped polished end?

they dont sell the 6081 last I checked....I called them before I ordered mine a year ago and they told me it was the mounting flange width....the 6080 had the bigger of the two. so even if they do sell the 6081 I would get the 6080 if I was you...Amsoil does not make a 6" flanged filter that has a open top....I called them when I got my 6080 and asked them..

How far off on the stage II filter shields or boxes? Those kids must be grown by now.

Thanks.

got the intake done. Sounds awesome! went with a AFE 6" filter, 6"-5.5" elbow I got at a diesel shop down the road and so on. Got the filter for free from a buddy, so all in all I have $10.00 in mine! The truck shop had the 6" tube and the 5.5" tube and the elbow. score!

Left the TAG fins in as well. How did you mount yours to not move around though? Im workin on some type of bracket right now.
