I have the engine apart due to a dropped valve, and noticed they make a high flow injector cross over tube. Does any one have these, or at what point are they necessary?

 

Not worth it. If you need more fuel you need more pump, larger crossovers and larger fuel rails have not really panned out.

 

good to know. I have plenty of fuel so i'll throw some OE's back in.

 

I actually lost fuel mileage with a hogged rail... go figure.

 

no actual gain, take the money from the cross over tubes and put it towards something more useful.

 

I would like to put it towards some bigger injector nozzles. Maybe ill get lucky and santa will come early.

 

Good call! do that that is much more useful.

 

well I called cummins and got some new crossovers coming, and they said that the new ones actually have a slightly bigger orifice in them, just the way they are making them now... so maybe a little more flow. But, for my injectors I sent them to II to get them tested while they were out, and for the price they wanted to test and hone and them to 100hp I couldn't pass it up, so santa came early . I just wish it would be earlier than next Monday/Tuesday so I could get driving the truck again.
