HIDs???
Not to hijack here, but I have a question while there is an HID thread running. I like the idea of a brite box for dark country road runs, but don't like the heat the current draw that setup creates. With the HID's running at lower wattage and higher efficiency, would that make running a brite box setup easier on the OEM wiring?
Just kidding. But seriously, do not insult it; it angers easily!
I received my bi-xenon kit today for my 06 and the plug is the older three prong type and my plugs are all the smaller multi pin types. And also I would like to know if I should remove the silver cups that are in front of the stock bulbs. Thanks John
Hey BigDan, being that your lifted, how badly do you upset oncoming traffic with those things? I really wanna do HID's but i get "bright lighted" already. Ive actually had people get in front of me, get mad cause of my stock headlights, slow down to get behind me and then turn on their brights. It makes me laugh but i dont wanna make everyone angry, including local law enforcement.
do these prices seem good? i have a hookup on another forum. ive used his hid kits in my camaro ss, and was very impressed with the quality. and they were plug and play. would i encounter any problems running a dual HID 9007 (hid low/hid high) as well as HID 9006 for fogs? do any companies make a projector housing for our trucks? or would it need to be a custom made housing? should i not attempt to run these in my stock housings?
I have a 9007 6000K single beam in stock you can have for $200. Its just low beams though. I can get the HID low/Halogen highs in any color for $250 and HID low/HID High for $380. The 9006's I can do for $230 shipped.
Thanks,
