Help!!! What Is This Sound?

Hey guys, just replaced the exhaust manifold because the other one was cracked. Replaced all of the seals, exhaust and turbo inlet seal too. Put in the gauges at the same time(Pyro, Boost, Tranny). Right after, I noticed at the upper end of the of the RPM band(starting around 2000) and boost(20psi and up) I started hearing a fluttering turbo whistle. Not a solid whistle, but it has a bit of flutter to it. Wednesday night, picked up truck after having the Flex Plate replaced and turned on the box (quad std) and was showing a buddy how much boost the truck would pull on the gauge and it started making the noise more. I hear it at 70mph plus now where as b4 it only did it when I got in it hard. Now it does it at lower boost levels. Pulled boot off and spun the wheel on the turbo and its not dragging and is free spinning. I am at wits end on this one. Any Help or anyone has had this problem I sure would like to hear your idea's on this problem.
Thanks

Is the intake boot loose on your boose elbow? Mine made that noise and blew off when I tapped the intake for the boost guage.

Maybe a leak somewhere?

Also if you only heard this after the gauge install it might be the boost gauge. For some reason it seems that most of the analog boost gauges are cheap and a lot of them flutter. You can probably put a snubber on the boost line and it might quiet it down.

Does the needle on the gauge flutter at higher boost levels?

Probably a loose fitting on your boost gauge somewhere.

If you look around it seems that the majority of the boost gauges have fluttering problems. They are a pretty cheap gauge and are driven mechanically. I think most of them are in the $30-$40 range so you cannot expect too much from them.

There are some very good gauges but, overall they are cheaply made and that is why there is so many fluttering problems.

Interesting. None of my friends gauges nor my gauges flutter. We are running either autometer or isspro with the majority going to isspro. Interesting that this has never been brought up before either.

My ISSPRO boost gauge is not all that quiet. Works and looks great, but does make a little bit of noise. Sorry about being O/T.
