HELP...on side of road...

My brother's 4.5....running 20 psi, not too hot, Juice on 3 or 4, 0% on the MP-8, towing 14k, 65 mph, climbing a grade....

BAM!...lost power in Overdrive....coasted to a stop...still idles...no strange noises...will go back into drive and move...but have not tried getting back up to speed.

Ok...that was my report from my bro. What do you think...maybe a flexplate finally went on his abused stock tranny? Look slike I am going to have to go to Pendleton, OR to get him.

Opinions?

If it goes into gear and moves, could it be something as simple as an intercooler boot?

Could be tranny.
Did it go into limp mode? Any codes?

Fuel pressure?

If it moves, its not the flexplate or tranny (unless its slipping at cruise, which is possible).

Since its ideling fine, nothing catostrophic in the engine.

You mentioned that there were not any funny or loud noises, so that's a plus.

Pull the tranny dip stick and check the intercooler boots.

My best guess...damaged 4th gear band...and now it seems like 3rd is soon to go next...he is limping. Going to the rescue with the gooseneck. Will post back soon.

Any ideas on who I should use in Boise to build up a new tranny for him? I have not used anyone else but ATS when I was in Denver. Opinions please.

Thanks.
