HELP with new Trans Install please

Im putting in my ATS Stage 4 tranny (if you dont like ATS so be it but save your ATS hater comments for another thread, sick of hearing it) and the torque converter is already on the tranny and just held in place by a tab i will need to remove..

But my question is... Do i need to remove the torque convertor and add fluid to it????

I would suspect that it was shipped without fluid .
I have always filled TQ as part of the job , have never not put fluid in , so not sure if its an absolute , necessary .
If you haven't done auto R&R before , it can be tricky to get the TQ fully installed [ all splines engaged ] , measure the distance between the matting surface of the bell housing & flex plate on motor , then to be sure the TQ is in all the way , measure that space on trans [ with TQ in all the way ] it should be about a 1/4" extra , then your good to go .

No, you do not need to pre-fill the TC. The TC will get filled with fluid when you start the engine.

ats pretest all there trannys on the dyno first so most of the small areas should be filled the tc should have some in it. They cannot ship them full because its a haz material. Just install, fill up the run and then recheck add more iff needed and it will need some....

Essentially, yes. If you can do so, leave the tab on until you are ready to slide the trans up to the bell housing to make sure the TC does no slip out. Once the trans is bolted up and snugged verify the TC will still turn. If it does you are good. It it doesn't or the trans won't mate to the adapter all the way, it slipped out and turned.
