hey guys got a problem got a brand new tranny in and took easy for like hundre miles then started to get on it....pulled in a gas station to fill her up and the tranny is leakin bad thru the cover below the tc? what can be leaking?

I have a transmission shop in SW Missouri and have worked on many of those trannys. If it is leaking out from the tc cover, either one of 3 things is going on.

#1 It is over full on fluid and it is venting it out, the vent is located in the top of the pump behind the tc.

#2 It has gotten too hot and is venting fluid out, either because of internal problems or it needs an external tranny cooler.

#3 It has blown the front seal, but this one is really doubtful. Just dont see many front seal issues.

 

I agree....OVERFULL is the worst thing for these, they'll spew like a stuck pig!

 

my buddies dad got a new rebuild and his tq converter had a crack in it!

 

hey guys took it down to tranny shop who built it and they overfilled it and was coming out the overflow hole...thx scared the crap out of me man..

If the shop did that and sent it out the door without properly checking a simple thing like that, it makes you wonder what other things they forget to check.

What kind of warranty did they give you??
