got some numbers

Alright here goes, I am waiting on my x2 to come in. I already have the commander but if I hook it up I will have to take it all back out when the x2 gets here because it has a new harness that does not need to be spliced. Anyway, I have a banks six gun and pda on the floor at my house just sittin there because I found out how good the smarty is and bought that. Well today I decided to put my banks on with the smarty just to be able to monitor things and it only takes me about 10 min to hook it all up. Im not sure how accurate the banks 1/4 mile recorder is but with the banks off and smarty on all origional programs stock inj and turbo. I ran 15.9. The only thing is I hit 1550 egts for about 4-5 sec. That scared the **** out of me. but all was still good so I ran it again with the banks on level 5 and the smarty on 5 also. and got 15.4 and the egts where a little lower. but still made me nervous. So my ? now is once I get my x2 in it is stronger than the banks so how or what can I do to keep my egts down? I know one or two turbos or h2o meth. but is water meth worth it? or is it more hassle than it is worth? Is one turbo good enough or for sure go with 2. I have a fuel system on the way right now. also. any any any info will help

I'll be going with a good towing turbo, one that will spool quickly with the limited fueling mods I have (I won't be adding anything else). So far I like a 62/12, 62/71/13 and maybe a 62/14 if I commit to Flux 1 injectors.

When you say fueling mods does that mean that what I want to do is pushing it for a single turbo as long as I stay with the smarty and x2 and a fuel system?

heavens no!! What determines pushing it will be your HP goal, there are a lot of people around making high 500's with one turbo-- like a silver bullet for instance. There are a couple over 600 with one turbo. If you are not getting larger injectors you can go with something like Pauly is suggesting above. All the mods have to kind of go hand in hand to match each other to a certain degree. Too big a turbo with no fuel to spin it will just result in a lot of smoke and high egts. Too much fuel with a small turbo gets you a lot of smoke and high egts too...
Twins just allow you to have your cake and eat it too...

Stacking the Smarty and X2 will easily give enough fuel to support a medium sized single turbo. Since you have a better lift pump, your next area of concern would be the cp3.

pauly--

If you are going to get that kind of turbo and you are swapping injectors anyway-- why not some 1.5's? Or even 1.8?

I really don't want to swap injectors, but if one were to fail, I'll do them all. The problem is I will probably still have the stock turbo if that happens, and don't know when I would be able to replace it. And I really want to keep power levels close to stock, especially since my truck is about to become a company vehicle.

I understand! I only ask as I am going to swap when I need to, but was looking at the 1.5-1.8 range for myself.

I like a 64/12 personally. If you are going to change the sticks I might look at a 64/14.

There are a million ways to do it, I just happen to like the turbo I mentioned above. No real lag, plenty of air.

Also, without getting into a can of worms, don't just look at boost numbers. A 64/12 at 40psi flows a LOT more air than a stock charger at 40psi.

Quad,

Do you have a 64/12 on your personal truck? Do you tow with it? I'm assuming you're runnng one of your modules

Yeah, I have it on one of my trucks and I like it. If you only care about towing then get the 14 exhaust housing for egt purposes in my opinion. I don't think it is laggy but, that is just me.

I don't exactly have what everyone else has. You know I have to have some experimental stuff..........
