In traffic, when i'm accelerating lightly...meaning to slowly increase speed and it downshifts to 2nd and the rpm's come up, it's not too enjoyable.....then it pops into 3rd and i'm shooting for the rear end in front of me.....

If i didnt drive in traffic no problem, but every morning is annoying.....

Hopefully, the stiffer spring will help, if not, maybe a new vb??

I'd like a Goerend trans but he's on the other side of the country and I have no where near the time to drive out there. I don't plan on programming the truck, I just can't stand the stock slip of the TC when it's unlocked.

Mine doesn't do that. It only downshifts when you let up on the pedal and/or the truck is slowing down.

Are you pressing the pedal further than needed to get the truck moving and then letting up a little just before the 2-3 shift? That will cause it to happen on mine.

Same situation here, I'd buy Goerend's trans in a heartbeat but don't have the time to drive out there and don't know of any shops near PA that could do the work The stock tranny in this truck is the weakest link and I also think my fuel mileage is suffering because of it.

Guys, just buy a whole trans from Goerend and have it swapped in. Any basic mechanic/trans shop can do the swap for you. If you don't have a local trans guru then might as well go with someone like Dave who stands behind his work and his warranty.

Heck, I drove all the way from Utah to have Dave do mine! Well not exactly...I was kind of in the area for other reasons.

I agree!! I was already to drive all the way there when I found a local guy who could/would do it all for me. I was in contact with Dave Goerend throughout the process so he knew exactly what I wanted. The install is very straight forward. I could not be more happy. If nothing else, Goerend can recommend an installer near you.

My dealer installed mine in less than 5 hrs. Test drive, & all. He thought my truck was pretty fast...

You've got that right. My mileage was really falling off before my transmission upgrade. I have yet to run a full tank thru with my new setup to check the actual mileage but I can tell you that the gain is significant.
