GDP Fuel Boss works great on my 06

I am really impressed with the fuel boss mechanical system on my 06. Forget the Walbro kits and go mechanical. My pressure actually goes higher during WOT it is a sight to see. I can definately tell I am getting more fuel. I had my truck pretty well dialed in for less smoke with the most power and now I have had to drop all my levels to lower smoke levels but have more power at lower levels than previous settings provided. Very satisfied and I really think you should look long and hard at this setup if your are thinking FASS or even the GDP Walbro system. Thanks Rich @ GDP Tom J.

I had a chance to take a look at the parts use for the boss. The pump looks like it will last a looong time.

I'd recommend Richard to anyone also. One thing though.... unfortunately, you can't use the Boss with a Fluidamper installed

Opie sells a MITUSA kit that mounts on top so you can use it with a fluid damper

plus Opie is the originator of the mechanical pump set-up's

call him it's not on his site but I know he makes one....

yeah Opie's also has a nice setup but, I can't complain about my walbro. I figure if my electronics shut down... the trucks not going to run whether I have a electric or mechanical pump. Plus, with duals I need very little pressure. Richard wasn't the first with the walbro kit either.... he just made it more user friendly and affordable.

what is the pick up line designed like? does it still have the problem of picking up fuel once you get down to like a quarter of a tank? like the walbro system.

mm73-I asked Richard at GDP the same question, and the way they set it up (or one of the ways) is to run a seperate pickup with drawstraw and leave the old drawstraw with old elec pump in place. The fuel boss pulls fuel from it's pickup and recycles excess back to tank as it normally would. The only time the old elec. pump is working is when you key the ignition and when the level of diesel drops below the new drawstraw. So you get the last drop same as you would if you didn't make the upgrade. Richard said people can't get the last of the fuel because the origional is optimally placed to the bottom and it's like molded in.
Interesting thing that he told me, the fuel gets really hot when you're down to last bit in the tank. It get recirculated and takes a lot of heat from the engine going thru the pump and engine on it's way back to tank.
I got the fuel boss too, it IS nice isn't it? Haven't put it in yet, still admiring it. Actually decided I wanted to put the dual filter FW seperator thingy in along with a vent kit too.

I have my fuel boss in a box right beside me, every once in awhile I'll go through and admire the parts for something to do wishing that I'd just install it myself ha, I'm not sure that I want to attempt it tho, I need to get the filtration system with the 2 micron filter, I forgot to order it from Richard. I'm also gonna install my fuel pressure guage at the same time when I get it all together...

You'd think GDP would of made it to work w/ fluidamper.

I bet it will cost them about 50% of sales.

What are your pressures at idle and WOT? Just curious.

Yep, I bet the MITUSA pump will get more sales for that reason.

Pressure is 15-18 at idle and 22 at WOT. You can get an ugpgrde to run higher pressure but you need to replace the plastic cap on your fuel filter housing with a metal one or you might blow it off. I am going to be ordering a billet cap and new filter from Genos tonight. Tom J.
