So, this type of setup still uses the stock lift pump just during startup?

I'm assuming most of the wear of the stock lift pump comes when you're in the throttle? I'd like something to alleviate the stock setup totally, BUT if it's only being used for startup I wonder how much wear and tear is being put on it?

Would it still be advantageous to run a setup such as this considering the 392 can be mounted on the rail and is easy to get to? If the 392 ever does go out, then it's easy to replace. With the fuel boss, you are still using the stock lift pump at startup and if it peters out, then the tank would have to be dropped in order to replace the stock one.

Thing is for me that I had no idea that the mitusa system existed. I had never done any research. I stumbled upon the fuel boss when I was looking at the 392 kit on glaciers website and decided to post on it and see what kind of feedback it drew up.

 

I never heard of MITUSA till last night....GDP does not mention being able to retain the stock pump if anything goes bad and MITUSA does?????

if no one talks about it then no one will see it...both kits look really nice....it may boil down to price.

I agree. It looks like the 2nd gen kits are around 6-700 bucks. I don't mind spending that for a mechanical pump. IMO they should have had mechanical pumps on them to begin with.

 

Yeah i know they havent been advertised very well, but if any of you want more info on them PM me, the MITUSA has Alluminum pulleys, not plastic, they plastic ones have broke before,comes with a Billet fuel filter cap with a port on the top similar to Geno's Garages, also comes with and extra belt for the rare case of it breaking. And to prime the system when installing it comes with a aluminum pulley that adapts to a drill to spin the pump and prime the system.System is $700 and has all your lines checkvalves,regulators, rust free fittings. So i guess if you take all the extra stuff out it would be cheaper, but like everything else you get what you pay for.

I see nothing wrong with "improving" on established ideas...that is how advancement happens!

IF the idea was so unique...copyright it! Otherwise...it is service, performance, and price that drives the market.

 

Exactly, which is why we have so many choices between lifts, turbos, injectors, fueling box's, etc etc.

 

I do like Opie's kit. There is something to be said for the detailed instructions that he includes with it, and all the lines and fittings come complete.

Less hassle and no running around looking for obscure fittings up here.


Either way, when you purchase a pump it should contain all the required pieces to install.

 

The one thing that I consider when buying is the customer service and the tech support... and nobody compares to GDP.

We could go on all day about this but simply its not copied. The GDP kit has different brackets, different pulleys( out of poly carbonate), it ties into the fuel system different... etc. I guess the only thing I can see is they use the same pump and "rust free fittings" and fuel line hose...

It's sorta like saying a transmission company copied another because they buy the billet shafts from the same guy...

Every fuel system from ANY company should contain ALL the fitting etc to hook up their fuel system. Unless it was a mistake obviously...

Luken said it best. I don't see how GDP could get knocked by anyone for coming out with a mechanical pump. Unless it was a direct and obvious 100% no difference at all total copy and I don't see that happening.
