gauges with a manual??

this may be a stupid question but for those handshakers out there, what gauge combonations are you running?? boost, EGT's and ??? we don't need a tranny temp do we?? i was always under the impression only autos really need to monitor tranny temps?? i would love a fuel PSI gauge is that possible?? and pro's n con's on pillar vs dash mounts?? thanks in advance.

Minimum: Boost, Pre-Turbo EGT

If you plan to mod: Fuel pressure, Rail pressure

Serious Towing: Trans temp, Rear Diff temp (extreme towing)

Comprehensive Gauges: Oil Pressure, Oil Temp, Coolant Temp, Post-Turbo EGT

Just boost and EGT in a single gauge pillar pod.

I used Dipricol boost, egt pre-turbo,and lift pump pressure on my pillar.Diesel manor can set you with everything you need in one shot.Quality stuff, work very well.Wasnt cheap, and its a PITA to install, takes all day,but the reward is worth it to look at a really nice set of guages that function the way there supposed to.Next stop Smarty Jr.

Load it up.... So you can look like a redneck with the rest of us....LOL I personally don't care for all the gauges everywhere in my truck but I use each one of them, so they are a necessity. Each one telling a tale....

I have a Westach dual in an SRT-10 pillar & a Westach fuel gauge in front of the shifter boot, hanging down. I read an article where gauges were tested for accuracy & response time. The Westach read the EGT in less than a second. At the time I had Isspro, IIRC, they were very slow to give you an accurate reading. With a manual, every time you shift in the lower gears, your EGT's, sometimes don't get time to get a good reading, because shift time comes. With an auto, I don't think it would be that important.

Pyro and boost in a dash pod. Occasionally I hook up a temp fuel pressure gauge to the cp3 banjo for random checks - I don't use it permanently cuz I don't have an isolator. I built K t-couples and put them in wetwells in the boxes and I plug in my Fluke 52 for random temp checks. They just lay on the trans hump when not it use. Craig
