Question Gauge wiring help

I've searched and searched and now I am totally confused.

Orange/brown for the dimmer portion/power to the lights?
Grounds can all go to the same spot under the dash, just pick one?
Cigarette lighter wire for juice?

Orange/pink? Brown/orange?

I think I should have been color blind.........aaaaaaaaargh.

This is for a Westach combo boost/egt on the 2004. Not a 04.5, regular 04.

Thanks.

Posted on TDR as well if you think you've deja vu.
All over again!

It's Orange/Brown, but there's 2 of them and also an Orange/Black. I couldn't tell the difference, best to use a meter to check. Dash lights will act goofy if you pick the wrong one...trust me

I ended up running my ground out into the engine bay. I couldnt find a 100% certain ground under the dash, but the main one in the engine compartment was right on the fender beside the ECM connector.

I havent hooked up the switched 12V yet for the tranny temp. I havent yet figured out if I really want to drain all my tranny oil right now, or wait till sometime down the road.

One thing I forgot to do was to leave a coil of wire behind the guages - in case i ever have to pull them up/out for service. hmmmm.....I hate kicking myself........

Where did you tie into the orange/brown wire for the instrument lights? Did the dimmer work ok on the gauge lighting? I am working on the gauges this weekend, and am not sure about the wires. Already have the boost and egt lines run just not the lights.

My 2003 had the orange/white wire - and only one of them, thankfully. Yes the dimmer works on the gauge lights - at least the one that lights up right now. The EGT gaguge lights, myboost gauge should be lighting up (so I might have a burnt bulb) since its comletely wired. I only hooked up the tranny temp gauge to the ground so far - didnt connect the 12V switched wire yet, since complete wiring of that one wont happen till I get around to buying the line splice kit. I THINK that might be why its not lit yet.

ps. I did all of mine without pulling the lower dash panel off. It was tight under there - but I managed to cut the black tape off of the wire bundle which gave me just enough room to tap into the light wire. I only ended up with about 2" of exposed wire that I could get my fingers on.
