Gauge install question
I installed a Di-pricol EGT gauge in my truck yesterday evening in a SRT-10 pillar mount, it looks real sharp. My question is about the back light for the gauge.
I looked at the wires on the back of the dimmer switch, and with my test light I found one that dims, but the wires there are really small (18 maybe 20 gauge). I connected there anyway and got it working, but I'm worried that I might be overloading that tiny wire.
Where else can I tap power for the light so that it dims with the other gauge lights?
Anybody else with illuminated gauges, where did you all tap into the power at?
Thanks.

I have two Gauges powered by that wire. That bulb and LED aren't going to add that much additional draw to the wire. It's protected with a 15amp fuse under the hood as well.
