Fuel system on stock truck...worth it?
Just as the topic says...
Just browsing around for new things to buy for the truck and was wondering if there are any major benefits for adding a fuel system to a relatively stock truck?
I already have the in-tank lift pump (killed the old style pump @ 40k)...
I'm a daily driver with a rather conservative right foot so its not like I need fuel to support SW#9 on a daily basis...know what I mean? Just wondering if there are any benefits for the daily driver who uses SW #3 or SW #5 mostly....
Thanks again like always guys

I'd say its a great idea even for SW #3 or 5.
My first mod was gauges and the second was the Glacier kit with the big line and 2u filter. I did notice a slightly smoother idle when I installed it. Now I will say that may have been my mind playing tricks on me but I have absolutely no regrets about the install.
Now I've got the great Glacier kit running and have the stock system available as an installed spare should I need it.
The way I look at it is like building a house. If you want your house to stand you've got to have a good foundation. Same way with our trucks, if you want to support much more than stock power you've got to have a good fuel supply with sufficient volume, pressure and probably most importantly cleanliness.

Thanks for the input! All good points...
If nothing else, I would think the reliability of a fuel system (mainly the fuel pump) would be worth it....I'd think?
Doesn't most of the aftermarket fuel systems have warranty?

Yeah, a Walbro is a very capable pump. At the pressure's and volume's we run, it'll theoretically last a life time. I didn't need one as I had the in-tank OEM conversion when I bought mine as well. But, I'm glad I did it b/c it's one less thing to worry about failing. But, I built mine to be fully adjustable and currently run it at 38psi with a bypass regulator. I'm not a big fan of the GDP check valve. But, I did buy parts from GDP and have faith in Rich's system. It was just a personal preference. But, all and all, I'm with the rest of these guys. Get a fuel system. It's money well spent.
