Fuel pressure issues!

Hey guys, the other day i went out to start the truck and noticed that my fuel pressure gauge was sittin on 0. i checked all the wiring thinking it was the gauge, changed my fuel filter, still nothing! 1 day later i checked the isolater and it was empty, so i added some antifreeze and the gauge came to life, so i thought i had got it, took it down the road and still messed up, heres what its doin, when i get in the throttle the needle either dosen't move or it gradualy rises, then as i am driving it will gradualy come back down to normal pressure and then as i am driving it will begin to rise sometimes, when i shut the key off usually the needle would immediatly fall, but it stays were the needle was before i turned the truck off, the when i start it back up it will build pressure on top of what it was reading and have like 15psi on stock pump i think it might have some air in the lines, if so how do i bleed the lines without have ing to redo the whole dam thing? I have been fighting this for 3 days and its gettin old, please help me out guys!

Thanks chad

Try getting another line from the isolator to the gauge. You might have a slight pin hole somewhere. You did say that it was empty. What brand of gauge and how old?? Maybe the gauge went bad??

You don't have to tear apart your whole system to fix this. If the antifreeze tube part holds without leaking then try bleeding the other side. To do this, start the truck and loosen up the fitting on the isolator til you have fuel coming out then tighten up.

Get rid of the isolator. I had a problem with them, and so have many others. I've been running straight fuel in the cab for years.

I didn't want to advise that but since Mr. Madhat did. Our fuel does not have a high flash point like gas. I had a problem with my gauge within a week of installing, I just pulled out the islolator and chucked it.

The gauges are isspro, they are about 4 months old, i have never had any issues, they have been great gauges so far, i don't think its the gauge, i think it has something to do with the isolater being empty and air in the lines, i figured some of you guys have had some issues to and was wanting some expert advise! so you guys think i should just use the fitting in the top of the isolater and adapt the gauge line and run straight fuel, and that might fix it? I hope so, i am going to try to bleed it first to see if its full of air!

Thanks

Chad

If you have a good auto parts store around, they will sell some 1/8 copper tubing with the NPT fittings that will fit the gauge and where you have it tapped in the fuel line. That's what I did.

I used a needle valve instead of an isolator cuz I heard they cause problems, pics in my gallery.

I have been running my isolator for over 2 1/2 years with no issues. It is also an isspro setup. No issues, knock on wood.
