Fuel Heater, Necessary?

Hi all, I'm putting on a FASS in the next week and a half or so. Do I need to worry about bypassing all the stock stuff and giving up the heater? My shop (which I trust, and has a good rep) says not to worry, I don't see it being an issue what are your folks thoughts?

Thanks, John

Canada, Extreme cold, and no filter heater I would say is a big no no. But then I know nothing about the FASS system.

Could use a feul heater off a 94-98 12 valve, I beleive they are a individual part , not built into filter housing,

Do you have a picture?

I have a GDP fuel system and added a fuel heater after I gelled up a month ago. Details here:

I think the FASS has ports where you can run engine coolant through it to warm the fuel.

I don't have a picture, I got that from reading the dodge service manual. Pictures in there showed a seperate part for heater.

I figured with regular Howes usage, winter fuel and moving to Vancouver Island next month I would likley be just fine. Even so once your fuel has gelled, does a heater really make any difference, seems like it's heating a very small portion of the fuel system. I kept a 1l bottle half full of summer fuel in the garage last winter, even at -40° it was not even clouded so I think I'll go for it. Thanks all.

Mine had alot more engine noise, and knock, when I bypassed the stock heater. So I ran my fass back through the heater, and it has helped. But I have some pretty big sticks that dump alot of fuel.
