Ford Guy coming over to Dodge
Thanks for the insight. I am kicking around more the digital gauge packs such as quadzilla commander, attitude, and the small quadzilla gauges. Thinking of just deleting muffler and saving some cash. Air box I have heard varied stories on the packages versus just cutting holes in factory one?
thing is i know i'm going more towards the performance side of things but i do pull a 30 fishing boat (around 8000 LBS) everyonce in a while. so more or less i'm trying to set things up before putting a box on my truck. just pulling it stock it was like the boat wasn't even on the hitch.
i was kicking around the ideal of doing a cat delete and a replacing the stock muffler with a donaldson exhaust but i think i'm just going to buy a kit and put it on there. scottsjeeprolet has already said i could use his lift and he would also give me a hand putting my new exhaust in. so what area are you in cause you will find some guys that are more than welcome to lend a hand from this site

I am located in Green Bay, WI. I guess I am looking for cost effective measures after dropping a bundle on the truck. Leaning towards things that improve mpg, protect components such as engine, or are cheap performance mods.
I don't think the Smarty is what you're looking for. Its definately more geared more for the performance side of things. I run the Quadzilla Xzillaraider Standard (30-60-100 hp) and Commander and it awesome. Great power that comes on smoothly and keeps the EGTs low. This makes it a great box for towing.
For exhaust just replace the muffler. The truck comes from the factory with 4" stainless from the turbo back. I went with an MBRP muffler replacement kit.
When you do decide to buy check with the DTR store first. Lary will take care of you and you will get the best prices on Quadzilla products right here.
Good luck and welcome to the site!

IS the factory really stainless exhaust or is that a typo? IF it is where do i get a stainless muffler delete pipe? So what are the thoughts on the quadzilla with the 3 programs versus the tow box with one program? Commander over attitude or the smaller quadzilla monitor?
Just thought Id add....I tried on a couple 6L couple weeks ago off the Ford lot and see what I ended up with in sig.
Course I traded in the old 03 cummins I previously owned, thought Id give my loyal ford blood one more time but turns out I had a transplant after all LOL

Treangen, welcome!!
I was in the same boat as you when I purchesed my 05. I only wanted a little kick for towing and milage, as I do not need to roast my tires at every stop light. I tow anyware from 3500lbs-12000lbs and I have the EDGE/ATTUIDE and for me it is the perfect setup. On the fly adjustment and gauages in one kit, also had this on my 01 7.3l psd. As for the intake I have the AEM dryflow, works perfect and sounds good to. Exhaust, I lost my litty and fond a manaflow muffler, but this exhaust setup has a little DRONE noise in the cab while towing heavy. Also I have had my Egde for 18000mi with ZERO problems, great product.
Good luck with your choice, I know its a tough one

Thanks for the input.....seems as if a lot of people were in my shoes at some point lately. Does the edge attitude have the option for a fuel pressure gauge as part of their set up? As i understand it......that is an important thing on these dodges.
