Per the GOV MENT you cannot run your HIGH Beams and FOG lights at the same time. If conditions warrant running the FOG lights then you should be running at a lowwer speed and would want the LOW BEAMS on to better light the area dirrectly in front of you and not have the light bounce off the fog and blind you.

Now that I'm off my horse. I would just add a brush bar and put on some driving lamps and or upgrade you lamps to PIAA or the Sylvana Bright star(or somthing like that) bulbs.

Quick explaination. I have an 02 but I'm sure it's the same.

Pull the fog relay out and remove the cover. Plug it back in to it's socket. With the fogs and the low beam headlights turned on, switch the highs on and look at the contacts in the fog relay. You will see the relay trip as the highs go on and off. I just put a small piece of a business card between the contacts. Put the cover to the relay back on. Now the fogs stay on with the highbeams.

They do make a difference at night when using the highs

From what I gathered from various sites, the third generation lighting system is managed by a computer module. The lastest fix I have found, the turns fogs on with the parking lights. Done by jumping the grounds from the fog light relay to theparking light relay. The down fall is that you dont have control of the fogs.

Wow, it's really easy if you bought your fog lights separate of the truck! I just installed mine and can run them any time just by flipping the switch they came with. High beams and fog lights together really help light up what's in front of ya. I'd recommend it if you can do it!

I like the light spread when you double pull the high beam lever and have all three sets of lights on. Someone mentioned a sport lite kit that did this without having to manually hold the lights on. When in moose and deer country on main highways the additional light makes a big difference in spotting these 4 legged grill crushers. The additional heat in the plastic lite assembly has no detrimental affect on the clarity of the plastic from what I've seen. K.S.
