First time towing new trailer - Cummins rocks
I went camping this weekend, towed the new trailer (7300 bare-10300 full). It is amazing how the entire trip I was less than half throttle. I have a superchips on tow mode. I was afraid to step on it because I have no gauges yet, and it towed at half throttle or less with the turbo whinning just a little. It is funny when I compare it to building big blocks for the old Chevy suburbans & crew cabs of the past. I remember assembling big block Chevys for suburbans & crew cabs at my brother's old shop. For the day they were great tow machines, but nothing like this.
Just be carefull in snow conditions. I have a switchable Bullydog module and a larger turbo. That spells trouble on snow. I back down all the settings to stock and still have to be very carefull. With the old gasser you could just mash the go pedal and not spin a tire. I find myself in 4WD high on snow covered roads now. The Cummins is the answer for towing. Enjoy!
