my saga of my bullydog is finally driving me crazy. feels like the truck has stock power unless i go to WOT or almost WOT then i get a LITTLE SMOKE...more like a puff and off we go pretty quickly. having driven a few friends rigs with different power adders, i feel as if i am always defueling. maybe im imagining it and i KNOW im not talkin about anything technical here, just seat of the pants feelings, but i know dyno results SHOW defueling with a BHAF and straight pipe...would simply a boost fooler solve this? someone brainstorm with me here

probably. for the price, it can't hurt to try it. have you checked codes? my truck does that when it sets an overboost code. clear the code and power is back to normal.

id check 2 things.

This may sound funny, but it is definatley worth a try. Unhook both of your batterys, touch the positive cable to the negative cable on both batterys. Hook everything back up,, clear any codes that might be still there.. I think it should fix you right up

Judge 88 is on the right track plus what do you have for a lift pump...what is the pressure going to the CP3. A rail and fuel pressure gauge would help solve all your problems. ks

Rockittboy,
Didn't you just built a boost fooler for your truck?

And do you have gauges? What's the boost level?

ya mikeyb, i used the zener and built the boost fooler. the wastegate vacuum line is blocked off. on my outlook im seeing 37 psi at WOT. i did not however, hook up the 35ohm resistor setup because im still unsure of what wires i want it hooked to and if it needs to be installed on the MAP sensor side of my zener or the ECM side of my zener. dont get me wrong, the truck drives fine, its not like its in limp mode or anything. i have no codes stored, check frequently. its just i have driven many a truck with the triple dog/edge/etc...even with 37's and 3.73's they all seem to pull harder down low. if i just stomp on it, it flat moves, but like i said, hardly any smoke, not really any bottom end thats impressive. i have a stock cp3, but no fuel pressure gauge. the outlook shows injector rail pressures that are well within spec. like i said...just reading posts on the fact that intake and exhaust mods can decrease power down low because the ECM sees too much air flow. i know my zener setup has kept me from getting ANY overboost codes, but i dont think its keeping the ECM from automatically defueling. id like to install the resistor setup, just still unclear about what wire. been reading up on smokin 05's work on cumminsforum as well
