Question Fass install in an 05

Has anyone had the honor or headeache of installing a Fass system on an 05. I have read the install instructions and have to drop the tank and drill one hole and then start the install. I have had the system setting in the garage for a week now and am getting ready for this next weekend.

IF someone has done this install Is there any pointers that can be passed on.

thanks

I've read the instructions about installing the FASS on the 05, and it looks like a headache. Personally, If your truck is still under factory warranty, I would NOT install it. I don't like the idea of drilling holes on the fuel tank. Just my $.02

PowerDually,
Why did you want to install a FASS in your truck? Are you making mods that require more fuel (injectors, twins, aggressive fueling box)?

I installed a FASS on my truck because of the weak stock pump, but the '05 haven't demonstrated that they are weak. I didn't have to drop or drill the tank for my install. I did lower it some to make working the connections easier. I had a hell of a time trying to get one of the fast connectors off.

By the way, the FASS sure make my top end aggressive.

I am installing the Fass because of all the topics of of the bad pumps and with the fact as with any other vehicle that has an intank pump when it goes out it is expensive to replace.

SO i am taking the precaution of mounting a better system and I plan on installing injectors in another year.

I have been driving it for 4 months and have managed 14,000 miles to date. I am hoping the fass will give me a little bit more pick up at take off. I am also running a SP diesel eliminator and it seems at times that the in tank pump does not keep up as well as when I am pulling my fifth wheel.

I just downloaded the instructions and I see your problem. What a PITA. You will be and moaning the whole time you are working on it, but when you get it installed you will be glad you have it.

Did DPP recommend a vendor in your area who sell and installs the FASS? The one that was recommended to me had never heard of installing the FASS on a Dodge. All he had done so far was Duramax and Powerstrokes. I purchased the unit from him but I installed mine by myself. I ended up getting an older unit that only pumped 150 GPM. The vendor had it in stock for a long time because he didn't have any call for the Dodge kit. The 150/95 units are suppose to be more quiet if you have it on the 95 GPM setting, but I don't have a problem with noise.
