FASS indicator light?
FASS indicator light?
I just installed the Fass 150 in my 03 ctd. Has anyone used the indicator light available on the DPP website? Dont know if I should run a fuel gauge or use this light to monitor fuel pressure. Pros & Cons would be appreciated!!
i would use the light until you get a gauge. the light will only go off at a certain pre set pressure from my understanding.
the gauge will tell you alot more, and you can see when you lose pressure while driving. at WOT, you will see the gauge maybe go a couple psi lower , then right back up, the FASS system is a great set up. if your filter is getting cloged, and or some thing else is going wrong, you will be able to catch that because the gauge will read lower pressure then before.
just what i would do.

I put one on mine. It says it lights up at below 7psi if I remember right. The sending unit screws into a port on the outlet side of the pump. It also plugs into the FASS harness which is pretty nice, there is a ground and a wire to sending unit to hook up. The only thing I didn't care for was I felt the sending unit should have threaded into the block that bolts to the filter housing, I'd rather see it farthest from the pump. Still could be done if drilled and tapped but time was an issue when I put it one. Haven't installed the fuel guage yet.
