Question F1 camshaft Helix2 #s???

looking for anyone who has swaped out to a helix 2 cam and what they thought of it after install would really love some dyno numbers before and after just looking to upgrade to this cam but its 850 for the cam and 650 for the vsprings so want to make sure i get enough performace to justify the 1500 in cost. thanks

There is not a HP increase. A cam is not for making power, but reducing EGT, increasing mileage, and helping the engine to increase intake and exhaust flow for enhanced turbo spooling.

It is not a cheap date, but absolutly needed for long term engine durability if you have increased the engine HP with fueling.

Proper water injection systems are a good step as well.

yea i agree with that just at what point do i need to put that last peice in to finish the puzzle i plan on going to dual cp3 and then a twin set up after those are in then i will look into the cam since it does not offer me enough performance at this point to pay out that much, instead i put that 1500 toward a dual cp3 kit. at this point i am trying to get the most hp for the buck thats all when i get more cash then i will throw it to the cam and springs.

Well I have one in the box ready to go in, just dont have the time yet. I am ready to see how much difference it makes in egt and spool, everyone spoke highly of them so I went with it rather than the maxspool. F1 is a very reputable company and chose them for customer service and there expertise IMO good people.

How much in EGTs are we talking? I was thinking of the same thing but 82NDSNPR beat me to it.

Honestly. I just put the cam and springs in my own truck and WOW what a difference! To be perfectly honest, I have seen very little mpg gains. However, the spool up, take off, egt's are just absolutley incredible!! I as well as many others 'round here are VERY impressed with the performance of the cam and springs. Now, I must ask you, To which level do you plan on bombing your truck? Because, without a cam and springs, the entire valve train (as well as motor itself) is going to hate your guts, I can promise you that. The whole idea is to make the engine BREATH!!! With no air comes no power. FACT. I would figure the lack of cam n springs to be similar to building your truck with monster hp n tq with a stock trans.

Based on our experience, you'll net ZERO hp with the addition of a cam.It will spool the turbo sooner , which will increase low end torque ( & driveability).100 -200 degrees decrease in exhaust gas temperatures can be expected. We don't have online ordering, but you could email me info & we can get it done.Presently have the bolt on Helix 2's in stock. Deployed Army ? I offer military discounts..... Rip

Rip talked me into it so i bought the cam and springs lol

As far as egt's I personally ran in the mid 6's just daily driving with stock injectors. I changed to a set of 3.3's with the cam and springs at the same time, and have seen an increase of an honest 100 degrees.
