Wink EZ and a punk friend

Hey Folks,

I just got a brand new Edge EZ for my 04.5. My punk friend who knows nothing about Diesels thinks I wasted 500.00 bucks on a computer chip. I cant wait to show him wrong tomorrow when it is in. I told him we will go down the street first with the truck stock and then with the EZ installed.

I told him there will be a noticable difference. I just hope it will shut him up. He already mocks me about my "whistle" in the engine compartment and my gauges for takeoff. (we are helicopter guys) He saw me putting in the AFE system I guess.

Anyway, I just want to tell you guys about the deal I got on this Edge EZ. I dont know if any of you want one as the Downloader is much more power but I dont plan on changing Trans any time soon so I have to stick with the lower settings. I bought the EZ for XXXXXXX at XXXXXXX. It is listed for XXXXXXX but if you click the price, it will say XXXXXXX plus the 7.50 handling fee. It arrived in 3 days. I am happy with everything so far so hopefully installation wont be any problems. Thanks for all the advice and knowledge. I mostly just search stuff and read about all you guys and your experiences. Have a good weekend.

I just went back to Rpmoutlet.com and they already changed the price. I was the last one to get that price. They had told me it was a mistake and that the price was way to low but that they would sell it to me cause it is on the website. Anyway, take it easy.

Chris, You stole my post for tonight. I just bought a used EZ off of E-bay for $300. and got it in 2 days It literally took five minutes to install it. I couldn't wait. So far I went for a 20 mile drive and really can notice a difference. This is my first real performance bomb and wanted to start slow. The truck seems to need way less throttle to keep up with traffic. From the seat of the pants feel, I would say it could knock 1.5 sec off 0-60 & 1/4 mile e.t. It was raining all day so I Could only judge by the much increased wheel spin and acceleration at higher speeds. I want to get some DonM injectors next then Stack on the Juice. I should have my Airdog Fuel pump, EGT Gauge, and Fuel pressure gauge by the end of the week We'll see how long the trans lasts!

Gasser guys are used to getting 10hp increase with a chip so they don't understand that you will get huge power gains from such a simple modification. Tell him to sit down, buckle up, and hold on!!!!

If you paid $500 for the EZ then you DID waste money. Mine was $395 shipped.

The EZ makes an incredible difference though. If your friend can't feel 70 HP and 220 lb-ft of torque then I'd say he's in denial.

Keep in mind the EZ for the "600" is considerably more money than the ones for the 03-04 from what I could tell from edges site

The Edge site lists prices?? I don't know why the EZ for the 600 would be any more than the EZ for the 555.....especially since the Juice is now available.

Any of you guys got the incab switch in your 04.5? I am wondering where to route it from the inside of my engine compartment to under the dash. I dont need to mount it on the inside of my truck as I want to be able to easily take it out.

I just wire tied mine under the hood for now for the exact reason of needing to remove it easily if necessary. I think I'm going to get a balloon and rubber band just to weather proof it for now.

Maybe install the switch in the lil flap at the bottom of the dash in the center? That way it's out of the way for use and not an obvious spot if removed for the dealers sake.

i drilled through my firewall and went to the bottom of my dash. if you look under the heater controls, and under the 12v outlet, there is a plastic piece that pops right off. mine is drilled through there so i can just adjust it on the fly.

Hoss, you dont get 70hp and 220tq out of the 600 edge. you get 65hp and 150tq. Its a lot different than the 555 edge that you have
