Yes, that is correct for the 04.5. You do need to keep it below 40. But how the devil are you getting 40 with just a six gun?? You should be lucky to see about 33-35.

You know what, he says he bought it with it on there, I'm willing to bet he's got a downloader he may not know about. That and a six gun will push over 40psi.

It has peaked around 45psi give or take a few. I'm not real confident in the gauges' accuracy either. The gauges were part of the banks 6 gun install someone put in. I know for a fact the EGT gauge doesn't read the correct temp. These gauges will be replaced with a nice set of ISSPRO gauges this summer (since the truck is in storage now). The six gun tuner will also be replaced.

Should I remove the big head when I remove the six gun or just leave it on?

Also how hard is it to adjust for boost? I've never had one off so I'm unfamiliar with how they work.

You don't have to remove the six gun until you have something better to replace it with. It is safe power, it gives you something for now and you can stack with it. (It is pressure + timing FYI)
If you are not comfy with the gauge accuracy ISSPROs will fill the bill. As far as the big head, just leave it there. It will do its job and no need to take it off unless you have a buyer! But yeah, you do need to adjust it down to where you are 40 and under (if that is actually what you are getting).

Follow RIP 112's directions, he had one.

soulezoo, how could I tell if there is a downloader installed, and since I don't have the dowloaders’ module (if there is one) how would I get it removed? I'm thinking a re-flash from the dealer is the only way??? It that correct? BTW thanks for all the help.

There is good info on boost controllers at www.boostcontroller.com. They explain the difference between elbows and adjustable spring and ball boost controllers.

I do not know the answer to your question. This is a question VZdude might be able to handle though..

That's what I was thinking, but if he says it has a banks bighead on it, it only comes one way. It has two nuts on the end and a threaded rod, you loosen one nut, and the other allow you to turn for adjustments. again I'm not sure what way to turn it. When you get it set where you want it you can tighten it up, and put it back on. Again an air line works wonders to get the spring compressed. Once you get it off you will see what I mean, it'll be clockwork after that...

hope this in some way helps you understand...its getting late...

Here's a pic of one.
