Exhaust brake and valve springs
Exhaust brake and valve springs
I’m installing a pac brake exhaust brake on my 05 ram 3500 with a 48re auto. I have a few questions abt it. Do yall recommend the ecm bypass? It sounds like something i would want but on the other hand i want the warm up feature. Are 60# valve springs a must, if so just exhaust springs or intakes as well? What is the best brand of exhaust springs?
Thanks anyone for their input!

It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!

What gave you the idea that you need to change valve springs with the installation of an exhaust brake?
I have had the Pacbrake exhaust brake installed on my truck for many years and tens of thousands of miles with zero problems. Use the exhaust brake many times every day.
Can't advise on the bypass as I have never done it.

ECM bypass is a recommended option in some cases because it allows certain engine functions, including exhaust system and valve management, to be bypassed when using the exhaust brake.
