I am looking for a exhaust and notice a lot of you on the forum have a 4" system either Magna Flow or MBRP. Doesn't the 2006 dodge Ram already have a 4" exhaust? Would a person be better off with a 5"? Also what is the dif between the turbo bvack and the cat back? I want to install a Jake brake soon so what would be best? I haul a large trailer and want to lower my EGT's

"best" is a matter of opinion, I know people makin 700+ with the factory piping. 5" wont really gain you anything except a better tone unless you are in the 600 range or so. I just orderd a 5" for my truck to make it sound better, not that it doesnt sound good now but I think a 5" will sound better.

Yes you do have 4" exhaust, but your muffler off/get a muffler delete pipe from genos; see how you like that and go from there.

 

You can do like I did and add a magnaflow muffler in place of you existing and put a SS tip on it. I was gonna get a 5" tip but they talked me into a 6" tip because it is longer and looks better IMO. On my muffler they put in a 24" which is 6" shorter than the stock muffler. It sounds great. Just what I wanted. It's not blaring loud and there isn't any drone while driving down the road at 70 MPH. While taking off and giving it gas you can definetly hear it and it sounds great. They tried to get me to cut off the cat but I don't want to take the chance of voiding my warranty. Also some straight pipe it. It just reall depends on how loud you want it to be. I hope this helps.

 

And the diff in turbo back and cat back is just what it says. Turbo back, you get all new piping from the turbo back, cat back keeps the factory piping from the turbo to the cat then aftermarket pipe from cat out.
