egt's spiking really bad
Today I hammered down on the pedal and watched the egt's go from 600 to well over 1600. Could there be something wrong with the probe on the edge are is my stock turbo or any other parts going bad? HELP PLEASE

"2003 ram 2500, lwb, 4dr, 4x4, ctd H.O.... W/ FULLY BUILT HTS TRANNYw/ edge attitude "hot" w/ monitor stacked w/Diablo on EXTREME,SR MIA,4" magna flow turbo back,K&N stage II air intake,Banks High Ram,BD Rad, Kat MIA,35x12.50 on ION 138 17x10"
thats the problem. theres no turbo upgrade in your sig and your running the edge "hot" stacked with the diablo extreme. im suprised they dont go over *1600. better turn the boxes down or get some more air man.

yeah mine too..(but still trying to decide on turbo) and I didn't have the diablo on extreme it was on performance and the edge was on 4 this is the first time it ever done it and I've been well over 120mph before it ever hit 1400 and then my edge kicks in and defuel's it. But if it is the turbo that give's me a good reson to talk my lovely fiance' into letting me buy a new turbo might be a little tuff though being that I just bought a 6" lift.

get you a big turbo it will help you out alot. my rig gets way hot with just larry when he gets crazy it gets hot. I dont run stacked boxes at the moment and mine gets to 1300 very fast and I back off. I wont get more fueling until I get a new turbo.

It's not the turbo. I never hit 1400 with the stock turbo. The temp probes do occasionally go bad, and that's exactly how they act. Call Edge and tell them the problem you are having and they will gladly send you a new probe.

Big difference between the '03 and '04.5 turbos. The older turbo just can't push enough air compared to the turbo on the 600's.
Bigsilver, you definately need a bigger turbo, minimum would be something like the ATS Aurora 2k or HTT 62/12.
Might also want to look at water/methanol injection.

The Diablo adds alot of fuel. On performance I can hit 1600 if I keep my foot in it. On extreme it hits 1600 in the blink of an eye. Hitting 1800 and your in the range for spending alot of money... on pistons, valves, a new head... turbo... Be careful...

You're the only one... Everyone else runs much hotter than that. Maybe you should check your egt guage for what it's worth...
