Question egts with edge ez

would four horses in a steel bumper pull trailer, be enough weight to raise egts to dangerous levels with my edge box on the highest setting. There are not really any steep grades in oklahoma. I don't have any gauges, i am waiting for the juice w/ attitude moniter. I usually don't worry about just driving around town, but I am going to be going on little trip next week and i was wondering if i should turn down my box?

Depending on the terrain and rpm, stock can get temps up there.
Don't lug it, that causes the most heat besides over fueled heavy feet
If your going to leave it on I wouldn't recommend over level 2

I ran my EZ on level 4 and with my current mods my temps never got above 1200 and it only went that high if I mashed the pedal while towing. HOs run a little hotter than SOs so I think you would be pushing it on level 4. I would at least go down to level 3 for towing if I was you...

drew03 you will get way hot on level 4 pulling that load. Dodgezilla has mods to keep himself cool (intake ,exhaust) I have got up to 1200 on level 2 pulling heavy up a steep incline. Dont pull over level 2.

On my 2nd gen, pulling a load that big i can hit 1400, that is with the chip off!!! Just depends on your speed and of course, grades you climb. BTW, this was doing 70mph up a 10% grade.......next time i did it i attacked the grade at 80 mph, and temps only reached 1200

I hit a little over 1200 degrees on a 6% grade pulling a 10K travel trailer. I never run anything but level 1. (your results may vary)

I pull on level 4 all the time at 32,000# and up gross with no problems. Would never do it with out guages. Only time it starts to get hot is in the top of 5th gear and full throttle after going through the first 4 gears and full throttle.
