Edge Juice EGT probe install question

For those who have done it, please help me out. When drilling/tapping the exhaust manifold, how do you prevent the chips from dropping into the manifold, and subsequently, into the turbo housing ???

Any advice would be appreciated.

You will likely not prevent ALL shavings from going in there, but you can keep the majority of them out. I went very slow with the drill and a small shop vac going to suck the shavings prior to them going elsewhere. When I used the tap I put some bearing grease on the tap itself so the shavings stuck as it was being threaded. Run the truck afterward for about 20 seconds to clear any remaining and you are good to go.

I just read the Quadzilla Commander manual a few minutes ago because I have one on the way, and they say to either take it off to drill or drill w/ the engine idleing so that way the shavings are pushed immediately out as they appear.

tape over most of the tailpipe, get all of your tools ready. put grease on the drill and tap. get thick gloves. start the truck and start drilling tapping. googles are highly recommended.
