Best exhaust for '06?

What turbo back (single, not dual) system is the best for making power? Has anyone dyno'd a few of these exhausts and seen the differences? What ones do we have to chose from?

I am very impressed with the magnaflow. very easy to install, very clean look, and sounds great. As far as performance I am not really sure compared to other kits but it made a noticable difference compared to stock.

Thumbs up Tampa4x4Diese

Are you just looking to replace the stock muffler?? or upgrade to 5" exhaust??

If your staying with the 4".....then the only thing you need to do is loose the factory muffler & get a better free flowing one because you already have a good 4" factory system on your rig

what about just having some 4" welded into the place of the factory? thats what i have done and i love it. i dont think its to loud. once you get up to 70, i can hardly tell a difference.

WOW, 4" piping is stock!!! Holy cow. Well, I guess I'm looking for a turbo back 5" system, single outlet. Does the pipe size make a difference in MPG? I'm looking to make MPG 1st, and power 2nd.

Talking Tampa4x4Diesel

Yeah, the stock system is 4" & unless your really going to throw some major fuel to it, then 4" is all you'll need. It should support up to about 550 horse power

Most people go with 5" systems due to lower EGT's, deep & loud sound plus it looks good

You may gain an additional 1 to 1 1/2 MPG by either opening up the stock system or switching out for a 5" system but it will not be a huge difference.....

As far as 5" systems.....Magnaflow, Flo-Pro and MBRP all sell them. Your best bet maybe to go to the "search" button & do a search for 5" exhaust and start reading because there is more than likely a ton of threads on this topic.

good info guys. I think I might just cut the stock muffler out and replace it with a Flopro 4". or something alike. I had no idea 4" was stock. I thought it was 3".

I didnt like the sound on my 5" flo pro system. I am staying with my 4" system on my 06. I am also going to go with a nelson or aeroturbine. My buddy had the aero on his and it was a lot better sound than my flo pro. It was alot deeper.

yeah, 5" sounds like overkill. Unless you upgrade the turbo and do other things. Banks only offers 4" systems, must be a reason.

Aero only seems to make a 4" muffler, not a system correct?
