Edge EZ Installed

Got my Edge Ez controller last night and installed it. First drive was this morning. From what I can tell it seems the power comes up quicker and you don't have to put your foot in it as much as you normally would to accomplish the same acceleration. I can now start off in third gear like I used to start in second. It seems that the motor revs up a lot quicker.According to the on board MPG it went up approximately 2MPG. Satisfied so far.

Re:Edge EZ Installed

If you check the many other posts on this subject you will see that the overhead computer will not be accurate with the box installed. Mine shows an increase of 2 mpg also but in reality it has dropped 2 mpg w/ the EZ box. Check it manually.. That power is worth it though, no matter what the mileage ;D........

Re:Edge EZ Installed

I put on the Edge EZ with 200 miles on my wife's truck and have never looked back. I don't know how much "more" it gives it, but based on my 01, it's well worth it. I like the 01 with one so much, I bought this EZ for the 04 so darn quickly, I have no baseline to compare it with!

Re:Edge EZ Installed

Right now I am satisfied, this was the first real drive with it installed. I don't tow a lot, so I can't help you there. It seems to get in its power band a lot sooner.

Re:Edge EZ Installed

I recently istalled an EZ on my truck as well. I am very happy with the increased performance. I can't wait until more is available for our trucks.

Re:Edge EZ Installed

The power is great but I too haven't towed anything yet. I can tell you that even without the EZ my truck pulled my 30' enclosed car trailer easily and still got great mileage. I am driving gently now though as I don't want to break the tranny just yet.

My observation is that the low end power seems about the same while the top end is awesome. So, cruising around town it really doesn't seem much different but on the highway it really moves.

Blue04,

I also have an 04 HO, can you tell me more. Did you make any modifications to your intake or exhaust? Any glitches noticed with the computer?
Thanks, Wetspirit

Re:Edge EZ Installed

I have my box on #6 with no problems thus far. I have a custom intake and a straight piped exhaust to keep the EGT's under control....so far so good! I love the extra power both towing and unloaded and feel fairly secure knowing that I shouldn't break anything major running it.
