edge boost elbow

I have an early 04. I just installed the juice with attitude. My question is should I install the boost elbow? Will it set a code if I do? Will it hurt the turbo?

It will not hurt anything. I have had mine on for over 2 years and it has never throwed any codes.

Talking

I just installed the custom torque tube from Geno's. As soon as I drove it the check engine light came on. I tried to use my super chips to read but it wouldn't read the code so I just reset it w/ the super chips. Been driving about a week now & no trouble codes. Maybe it just threw the intake air sensor off temporarily with the extra flow. Didn't notice a power gain w/ it but the turbo is really LOUD!!!

Install it (if you have gauges that is), trust me, you'll like it!

On my truck, it moved the max boost from about 23 psi to 33 psi. No codes, ever. I really notice the extra boost under WOT and pulling my trailer over steep mountain passes. Nothing like sailing up a 7% grade mountain pass towing 10,000 lbs at 70 mph!

BTW, I removed it and the EZ (takes about 15 min.) before dropping the truck off at the dealer for warranty work (ball joints) the other day. Trust, me, there IS a difference.

Simply put, it has a smaller diameter hole through the center of it (WAY smaller), thus requiring more boost pressure to push open the wastegate. Some call it a "Boost Fooler".

I never did install mine on the '04. I installed one on the old '02 I had, and I noticed no change at all with EGT's or power, so that's why on the 2004 I never bothered. After reading the above posts, I may try it now.

I installed mine yesterday and drove down to Richmond and back today (about 300 miles) and noticed no change in EGT's at all, nor did it reduce smoke. With the EZ on 40hp and the VA C3.2 on 70hp it would briefly peak at about 45psi. Also when rolling through the gears hard she would bark like an SOB! I can't imagine what it would be like if I had the EZ on 70 and the VA on 130... I may throw the stocker back in, I figure with it I would have less chance of it grenading. To me it just seems like more of a novelty item.
