Dyno'd and demo'd a smarty

I dyno'd the pickup this weekend with 1601 miles on it. I made 267.18 RWHP and 492.32 LBTQ. I also tested a smarty. Of course I went straight to level 9. I have to say it wasn't all I thought it would be, BUT I only went for a 1 mile drive and didn't get on it real hard. I will probably end up buying one, but it's been put of for a while.

So what did you think it would be? ok, looks like you only demo'd the smarty but no dyno. Still curious as to what you didn't think was up to par.

I just started running sw9 this morning and I think it makes mad power. Ofcourse I have to baby it somewhat with the stock tranny. Have some valvebody mods but that is it.

more info would help us all.

thanks

I'm not sure what I expected. Maybe I still use to my old pickup. I know daily driveing my old pickup was 450~ RWHP and it felt like it had a lot more get up and go then this one with the smarty which by advertised numbers with my stock numbers would be close. Like I said I didn't drive it very far. Perhaps if I would have put more miles on I'd of been more impressed.

Stock tranny + SW9 = I wouldn't get on it real hard either.

Your truck's not even broken in yet. I just dynoed my truck with the smarty on #9, 5" exhaust and dual disk clutch and my uncorrected numbers on 37's were 468/923 so it should be very similar to your old truck. I bet once you get some more miles on your new truck it'll make a difference.

I havent updated my smarty to any of the different tq managment settings yet. And i havent run my truck in the 1/4. Not sure if i will. I may give it a shot down the road but with a manual it wont be fast.

I hear ya loud and clear. no worries. if it breaks, I mean when it does. I will rebuild it. Not to concerned. I don't beat it though. I will after I rebuild it whether it is a forced rebuild or because I want to rebuild. LOL

Keep us posted to my very limited knowledge the tq mangment settings are only for the autos?? Just wondering if you proved me to by wrong, the thing about a manuel is that they feel fast because they actually pull probably harder then an auto it just that you lose so much time on shifts. Thanks

My guess is that your stock trans holding you back. If you get the smarty loaded up on level 9 and go hit the highway and let the tq. converter lock up, you will feel all of that power around 55mph on up.

My dyno numbers are almost exactly what Boz's are......at 466/922. I definately need a trans upgrade to put all of the power to the ground below 50mph...but the stock trans is just so inefficient anyway...not because of the Smarty.
