Perimeter lighting - Video Demo
we hashed out all this stuff earlier, but I just got around to doing it today.
it's about $35 in parts.
Perimeter lighting is when you click the remote, and the Fog and Back up lights come on to illuminate the area so no one sneaks up on you
http://www.zippyvideos.com/4004420596467726/front/
http://www.zippyvideos.com/7712637126467746/pl-side/
does anyone know how to use that stupid website?
it lets you upload as "a registered user" or "anonymously"
which is Ok,
but it's so ignorant, you can't tell it which one to do, so half the time,
your junk loads into cyberspace (where the above are)
here's my other junk:

pics here
tap into cargo light output, fuse & relay & diode protection for each input/output.
the fog & backup lites are Hardware controlled, not SCR, so you don't need a diode in the feed line to protect them.
used it tonite, went to movies, was all dark, lit it up real nice for wife & friends wife & kids.

53, how much interest would there be in a Pre-Fab circuit board?
My Boss said I could have someone in town make them for me (we have them made for military all time, so he knows who to call & has program to do the drawing)
with the pre fab circuit card, it's about 2 hour install.
took few hours to design/crimp/build/test the board
you pick up the cargo light from that picture of the A-pillar, run that back down the dash.
pick the Fog Lite output from the Integrated Power Module output (or from back of Fog Lite - goes right up to IPM)
and get rear lighting harness behind the driver side front tire.
batt +12V (fuse there on batt)
and bundle all those together, wrap protectively, come thru fire wall
you can see on the circuit board, from right to left:
power (15 amp fuse - enough for fog lites)
ground
signal (cargo light)
2 relays and 2 outputs
2 outputs have (2 each) 6 Amp diodes (2x6 = 12 amps each output)
so batt feed is fused in case it chafes, ckt board is fused in case something comes loose, and cargo input is fused.
the diodes prevent power from back feeding thru the circuit.
the relays are $6.99 each, 6 terminal board was $1.50?
you could use one relay and the diodes to separate the output, vice 2 relays.
and it is mounted on a punch out for a CD ROM on a computer,
the enclosure box i made was too small
6A, 50V Rectifier Diodes (4-Pack)
$2.49
Model: 276-1661
Catalog #: 276-1661

I'm interested but I'm cheap and would like to build it myself.
after looking at the pic's it has me nervous, it looks like you really torn into the wiring harness to get to the wires you needed. I'm not sure I'm ready to do that yet.....

nah, not really, got a multimeter?
i did few hours of research on chassis wiring here,
http://www.dodge.com/bodybuilder/index.html
only 3 wires, fog, cargo, backup.
power & ground.

I played with it some more today, you can use the cargo switch to run the fogs anytime, clicking the cargo lite on should shed some lite (reverse lites) while you are hooking up to a trailer
been busy at work, i will try to find out about a pre built box tomorrow, and load some more pics tonite.

Count me in too I have been wanting to do this since I got the truck. I also want to add a LED light under the side mirrors there is a little round pop-out that could easily be modified to hold a small light so that it would light up around the doors as well.

talked to boss at work for hour,
showed him my board, the connections,
he was supposed to go Friday and talk to some of the manufacturers.
