i could not find the power diodes locally - and big stores don't want to sell in small amounts.
so i snagged the diodes off e-bay - and STILL have not received them.
i have everything ready to go, but I can't make it without the diodes.
so, give it another week, and i should have them made

ok, here's the deal:
I have a dozen almost ready, 99% made, have to go buy more heat shrink.
it is one 50 Amp relay, that will mount by the driver side battery, attach B+ lead to that battery, and to the ground there in the rear corner
(can someone peek at 03~05 and make sure they have that ground stud?)
the input B+ is fused at 20 amps
it has 6 feet of (fused at 5 amps) white wire to attach to the cargo lamp input on the A Pillar. this ensures that if you cut that wire, or it wears thru, it won't hurt the cargo light circuit.
it has 10 feet of blue output wire (it's ~4 feet to fogs, and ~4 feet to back up lights)
there is a single out put off the relay, one blue wire, that splits into 2 power diodes and 2 blue wires. the diodes have enough current capability to melt that 20 amp fuse.
so the Relay nor the diode should ever fail, the fuse should protect the circuit.
the diodes separate the fog, backup, and cargo light circuits. the cargo and fog lights are controlled by Logic and could possibly be harmed by back feeding voltage thru the truck (not likely, but it's better to safe)
so, if you have the truck in reverse, (say, working with a trailer) and are using the cargo lite button to lite up the reverse lights while hooking up the trailer, and you have the fog lites on, truck in reverse, and the cargo light turned on, all those circuits are STILL electrically separated by the diodes.
so you will receive:
--the relay, with the power, ground, and diodes and blue wires attached.
--the white wire, with fuse installed, and other end bare. 1 crimp on terminal
--instructions with pictures and PDF's of each circuit from the Dodge Service Manual
to install:
--run white wire from A-pillar thru firewall (will be a pic in the instructions)
--crimp on terminal, plug in to open spot on Relay.
--run blue wire down to back of driver side foglite
--run other blue wire down to reverse/back up light harness
--hook relay ground & battery up.
test it out.
LMK what you guys think...

cool,
if you have already signed up for one, the cost is $45 shipped, a discount to make everyone happy since it took longer than i wanted. just include your username in your PayPal note
$50 shipped for anyone joins thread after this post.
i stopped at radio shack and bought $25 worth of heat shrink
i have church tonite, then I will do up the heat shrink.
and i need to type up the instructions and e-mail them out to every one.
I only have a dozen ready, will have to re-order to do more.
forgot this part:
jstorie at bellsouth dot net is the paypal.

Subspd, to do that, you should have 3 outputs off the relay - with 3 diodes,
that way, when you power up the running lights, that power won't back feed and light up the fogs or back up lites.
I will build you a special harness with 16 gauge wire (the OEM harness is all 18 - what I am using) and 3 diodes and 3 outputs. will put you in a higher fuse rating too, a 25 amp.
the 50 amp relay will do all that easy.
i actually have thought about this. at the Mall in Newport News Virginia around 95~97, they were laying under your car, and cutting your Achilles tendon when you walked up to unlock the door, and then robbing you, and taking the car.
some light underneath or down the sides would be nice.

Well I was going to wire the lights to the flat 4 trailer harness (I got the trailer end so I can unplug the lights if I need to hook a trailer to this harness for some reason.) that way they will function as turn signals as well. Do you think this would cause any problems?
I also think it would be a good idea to have more lights on the side this is a long truck and I think the lights would also help warn small cars when turning...
And your thoughts on the security are valid especially here in San Antonio. urgh...

got the payments. i took a day off work, got all of them made up,
gonna test them all tonite, and ship tomorrow.
gonna work on the instructions, and e-mail those out.
should have good legible instructions in your inbox by time the module is in your mail box.
subspeed, i made your 3 way also. 5 feet of wire on each leg
