I changed out my 7.3L PSD to a less restrictive Walker Big Truck Muffler and it made some perceptable seat-of-the-pants differences in my truck.

Does it make any sense to consider changing the muffler on the 600? I understand that the 600 is already 4" all the way to the tailpipe - so I guess you wouldn't do it for that reason. Since the muffler is downstream from the CAT, I wonder how much effect changing or straight-piping the muffler would have.

Has anyone experimented yet with the CAT and muffler removal/replacement with any measureable results?

Don't know anything about the cat but I would change out that stock muffy in a heartbeat.

I do not know about the 600 with cat but in my 04 HO I just put on a Nelson big truck muffler and am very pleased. You can read all about it in the previous post of mine. I assume the HO and 600 probably have the same muffler except yours has 4" inlet where mine had 3.5".

Good question. I believe I'm going to leave the stock exhaust alone as well, (to start ), and just get a better muffler. I too was wondering who recommended what.

I guess it's too soon to know. I'll wait until the early adopters have figured out what works best on these new beasts. Sooner or later Banks will come out with something for them. I just thought someone might have already taken a crack at the exhaust.

I read a post about someone who raced a buddy with a 600. His comment was that the 600 with just an AFE might have taken his older bombed truck. So, does that imply that the AFE will benefit the 600? Has anyone actually done that yet?

I have a feeling that I'll be running this thing bone stock for quite awhile.
