duals out the sides

i have a 03 dually and was thinking about running duals out the sides of my truck before the back wheels?? has anyone done this or have pics?? i kno it will make it black all the time but i wash it alot anyway lol thanx for any info

Personally I would run them out behind the rear tires. Even factory exhaust will blacken your bumper. You run duals out in front of your rear wheels and your wheels and fenders will have soot on them. Maybe not heavy but it'll be there. I think they look better behind the wheels, plus it will make it that much further away from your head, and reduce cab noise being further back.

my 05 not only made the fender black while in stock form but also started to melt the plastic fender

i only went about a week before putting the downturn tip on it

maybe if you found a tip with at least some downturn to it

I know of a dually that had a similar setup way back in 1999 or early 2000 (Briarhopper). He ran two pipes exiting before the rear tires on the passenger side.

Use turn downs like the tips of the old Vette sidepipes that turn down and that should minimize the soot on your truck.

How about two chrome stacks under the doors as side pipes ?

Good point! The exhaust is hot enough to burn your hand at idle. I can imagine the heat at the tail pipe when EGT's are 1300 at the turbo.

thanx for the quick replies guys i dont kno what to do........i would really like to run duals out the sides maybe even just a single exhaust out the one side but i dont wana mess up my fender!

do a search for "kicker pipes"in canada..it might be what your looking for?

I don't have a dually but I have duals at the rear! I love them and the dual 6" x 24" Tips look good. SHane
