I'm looking at adding the Glacier Diesel 2Mic Universal kit to my truck between the Stock filter (Baldwin 7977) and the CP3 from the DTR store. I had a question about what to purchase. Whats the difference between the MK2+remote mount kit 98.5-07 ($262), or buying the universal inline 2 Mic set up and the big line kit separately ($145 and $69). I was wondering why the $47 difference. Is there something in the $262 kit that you don't get, but need, compared to buying the 2 separately? Just curious if I need to spend the extra $47 or not.

I made my own brkt to install a wix 2 mc with their remote base $48 total plus eng. of brkt/material.

Get a Fleetguard filter base and fab up your own. The filters are readily available and the filter heads are usually right around $25. I like to use Cat filters. They are inexpensive and have great ratings.

I uploaded a couple pics. of my install. of the 2mc filt./ brkt. I used the brkt that holds the wire harness, then I used a piece of pipe and flat piece, welded it up. Total cost was around $48.

I just googled wix and clicked on closest dealer/distributor for me. You should be able to do the same.

I'm not sure where the best place online would be to get the filter. I would call your local Cat dealer and ask them, or check their website.

I have the GDP MK2+ big line kit on my 05, with the Cat 1R-0750... I really like it... The difference is the mounting bracket and hardware is ready for your truck, IF you don't have an APPS.
