Draining The Rail

When you drain the rail what happens, symptoms that is, does the truck cut out?

Yep. Try to keep it to a minimum. Unless you feel like destroying your injectors, lift pump, and injection pump, along with the possibility of burning a hole in a piston.

it pops, and cuts out. Like a quick repetitive studder. Did you drain the rail with the smarty JR?

I guess, it also happenened with a Triple Dog. Truck cuts out and pops when romped on at low rpm. Thats what i needed to know. thanks.

how can you tell if you drained your rail? what causes it?

The noise it makes is startling if you haven't heard it before. When it happened to me a long long time ago I thought I blew the thing up. That was in 2005 though. Courtesy of a very hard fueling TST and non-modded pump. I say again, that noise is shocking.

I used to experience this but not like explained above. Mine was like a miss in my highest gear pulling extremely hard. Kind of like a bad spark plug missing some. I never heard much but could feel it.

I no longer have the problem after installing a second cp3.

The only box that my truck ever did it with was the TST.
